Sirhind Serai

Behind a crumbling archway near the spice market, a caravanserai built for Mughal merchants still stands — invisible to the thousands who walk past it every morning. This is the Sirhind Serai, a relic of a time when camels and caravans brought goods from across the empire into Shahjahanabad.

Today, it is absorbed into the bustling modern market, its courtyards filled with wholesale goods rather than weary travelers, but its archways and faded brickwork still tell the story of Old Delhi's origins as a global center of trade.
